Review of Technology Solutions to Patient Misidentification

To support the uptake of appropriate technological solutions in Australia, the Commission recently commissioned a review to investigate the current use an potential benefits of technological solutions to patient misidentification in the Australian healthcare setting and its application to safety and quality. The review provides information about the current status of work in this area and focused on technologies aimed at ensuring a consistent identification of an individual throughout the patient journey.
