This site has been created for the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care to assist Australian health clinicians, researchers, health providers in all sectors and the general public to search for information on safety and quality in health care. It provides links to freely available internet resources that seek to help close the evidence - practice gap.

Australian health libraries can provide further assistance.

In the USA, the National Network of Libraries of Medicine play an important role in health information provision. In the UK, the National Library of Health and the NHS Library and Knowledge Development Network (LKDN) are vital components of the National Knowledge Service. In Canada, the Canadian Health Libraries Association has been an advocate for the need to form a National Network of Libraries for Health.

This website is maintained for the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality by librarians at the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing with support from the Health Libraries Australia Group of the Australian Libraries Information Association (ALIA).

The Commission is pleased to provide this service as part of its role in disseminating knowledge and welcomes views and inputs. Please provide feedback in the first instance to mail@safetyandquality.gov.au
