The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) is holding its annual conference HIC08, in Melbourne from August 31 to September 2, 2008. The theme of the conference is "The Person in the Centre" and the event will explore the changing role of healthcare providers and consumers and how technology and information systems influence this transition.
The conference has been running for the past 16 years and draws around 800 attendees, coming from both industry and academia. The conference and its associated exhibition has been an important catalyst for the development of eHealth in Australia.
