The Implementation Toolkit for Clinical Handover Improvement, developed by the Commission, is a ‘how to guide’ for managers and clinicians reviewing their local clinical handover processes. The Toolkit complements the OSSIE Guide to Clinical Handover Improvement released by the Commission in 2010 and should be used as a supporting resource for health services meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

The Toolkit comprises a range of project management tools and resources to assist with clinical handover improvement and has been adapted for use in all healthcare settings. The Commission has also developed an online Resource Portal, which includes background reading and project management tools for health services to adapt and use when implementing clinical handover improvement.
