AURA 2016 was the first Australian report on antimicrobial use and resistance in human health. The report included analyses of antimicrobial use (AU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data coordinated by the AURA Surveillance System from 2014. It set the baseline to allow AU and AMR trends to be monitored over time, and highlighted areas where future work would inform action to prevent the spread of AMR.
