Infection Prevention and Control Technical Reports

A series of technical reports have been developed by the Commission to examine topical issues in infection prevention and control.

Infection prevention and control is a broad and dynamic subject area. The practice of infection prevention and control needs to be agile enough to counter the threats associated with antimicrobial resistance, changing disease epidemiology and the emergence of new infectious diseases. In addition, changes in human behaviour, clinical practice and technology mean that infection prevention and control strategies need to be constantly evaluated for currency and effectiveness.

The Commission has produced a series of technical reports on Clostridium difficile infection  that describe new strategies to monitor and control the prevalence of this disease.
