All Australian States and Territories have, or are in the process of developing and implementing open disclosure policies and programs. The private hospital sector has also made considerable progress in promoting and instituting open disclosure practice.

Open disclosure in primary care

The Commission, in partnership with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, released an education module and suite of materials for general practices titled Regaining trust after an adverse event

This resource aims to complement existing knowledge and improving communication skills as a means of restoring patient-provider relationships when things go wrong.
