Consultation Report phase 1: Review of the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights August 2019

The 2008 Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights was reviewed in 2 phases. This report details the first phase of the revision process.

Phase One of the review of the Charter included reviewing the content of the first edition, specifically its understandability, acceptability, utility and appropriateness for the current Australian context, and developing a draft second edition of the Charter. The next phase will include consultation processes and finalising changes, and exploring how the health sector is implementing the Charter.
