The Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard was revised in 2020. The update included the addition of a fourth indicator for sessile serrated adenoma detection. 

This Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Clinical Care Standard was developed by the Commission in collaboration with consumers, clinicians, researchers and health service organisations. It complements existing efforts, including state and territory-based initiatives, which support the prevention of hospital-acquired venous thromboembolism (HA-VTE) in hospital and follow-up care in the community.

Two groupers have been developed to support the implementation of the hospital-acquired complications (HACs) list. These tools can be used by hospitals, health services and system managers to identify and monitor HACs.

Sentinel events are a subset of adverse patient safety events that are wholly preventable and result in serious harm to, or the death of, a patient. The purpose of sentinel event reporting is to ensure public accountability and transparency and drive national improvements in patient safety.

A Topic Working Group was convened to provide advice to the Commission on this project. The group comprised individuals with relevant expertise in anaphylaxis, representatives of key stakeholder organisations as well as a consumer representative.

A literature review to better understand the use of antipsychotic medicines for people aged 65 years and over.

The 2020 Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Care Standard describes the key components of care for patients who have an infection or who or at risk of an infection. It contains eight quality statements and ten indicators.

This Gap Analysis tool developed by Julie Furlan from Darwin Private Hospital will assist organisations to understand what gaps exist in their current work flows, policies and procedures to enable the implementation of the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard.
