The Multi-Purpose Services Aged Care Module is a monitoring tool that is part of a suite of resources to assist multi-purpose services (MPS) to implement the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards Multi-Purpose Services Aged Care Module.

The NSQHS Standards User Guide for Health Service Organisations Providing Care to People from Migrant and Refugee Backgrounds aims to support health service organisations to implement the NSQHS Standards and provide safe and high-quality care that meets the needs of people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

By implementing the six end-of life care actions in the Comprehensive Care Standard, health service organisations are laying the foundations to support the delivery of safe and high-quality end-of-life care that is person-centred and comprehensively meets the needs of the patient. These six actions can be linked to the 10 essential elements of the Consensus Statements. This resource sets out some suggested implementation strategies.

The Multi-Purpose Services Aged Care Module (the MPS Aged Care Module) has been developed by the Commission in collaboration with the Australian Government, state and territory departments of health, and the Commission’s Multi-Purpose Services Project Advisory Committee. The MPS Aged Care Module describes, in six actions, the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards not covered by the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. It is only applicable to eligible MPS and was endorsed by the Australian Health Minister’s Advisory Council on 7 February 2020.
