Surveillance of Healthcare Associated Infections: Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia and Clostridium difficile infection - Data set specification

ACSQHC has drafted a data set specification to provide detailed metadata standards to underpin national healthcare associated infection (HAI) surveillance. The intent of the data set specification is to support local development of forms and systems; it is not intended that all data items be collected at national level. The data set specification incorporates the national definitions of HAIs developed by the Healthcare Associated Infection Surveillance Expert Working Group to support consistent local collection of Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia (SAB) and Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) data. The data set specification has been lodged in METeOR, the online repository of national data standards operated by the Metadata Unit of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
