New resources to support people with intellectual disability

The Commission has released three new resources in Easy Read to help people with intellectual disability improve their understanding and knowledge of health care.

These resources have been designed to support the User Guide for the Health Care of People with Intellectual Disability which aims to improve access to safe and high-quality health care for people with intellectual disability.

Resources have been developed for:

  • Good communication and positive behaviour support
  • Transitions of care
  • Polypharmacy

Easy Read is an accessible written format that can be helpful to ensure health information is better understood, supporting informed and shared decision making. The resources are also digitally accessible for screen readers.
