Board Chair Message - 15 July 2025
Recognising excellence in Clinical Care Standards
On behalf of the Commission, I am delighted to congratulate five Australian health services that have been recognised for demonstrating excellence in implementing one of our national Clinical Care Standards.
Their stories have been chosen from the inspiring responses to our callout as part of the celebration of 10 years of Clinical Care Standards in Australia.
It is an honour today to share their stories so that you can learn from their experiences.
Congratulations to Award recipients
The five health services come from across the country and have received 10th Anniversary Clinical Care Standards Excellence Awards for their quality improvement efforts and impact on patient care.
Each service offered a unique story, with evidence of how meaningful change can be achieved by effectively implementing a Clinical Care Standard. As you will see, this inevitably meant innovating to overcome hurdles.
The five Award recipients are: | |

I encourage you to read these five Stories of Excellence.
Sharing learnings to improve patient care
Despite implementing different Clinical Care Standards, we found some common themes and striking similarities in their success factors, barriers and learnings. Next month, the Commission is hosting a webinar where these exemplary health services will share their insights.
We invite you to hear first-hand from these services about what they learnt, including actions to apply in your own health service.
At the Commission, we are committed to ensuring our evidence-based Clinical Care Standards contribute to making health care safer and more effective for all Australians. I hope you will be able to join our webinar.
Thank you for joining me in congratulating these five services for their immense efforts in driving high-quality care.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Christine Kilpatrick AO
Board Chair
