Update on the draft Medical Imaging Standards

The Commission has released the latest draft of the Medical Imaging Standards, ahead of the regulatory impact assessment.

Recently, the Commission undertook a public consultation seeking feedback on the Standards.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and provide input. We used this feedback to develop this version of the draft Standards.

Next steps

The Commission is undertaking a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) and working with health economists to complete a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) on the implementation of the Standards.

Over the coming weeks, these health economists will contact stakeholders to gather feedback as part of the CBA process. For further information on the CBA, please reach out to Sarina Lacey at slacey@thecie.com.au.

We expect the Standards to be implemented in 2028.
