Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Australia Surveillance System
The Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Australia (AURA) Surveillance System collects, reviews and analyses data on antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance in human health.
AURA monitors patterns and trends in antimicrobial use and resistance and regularly reports on them.
The Commission established AURA in 2014 with funding from the Department of Health and Aged Care and the states and territories. AURA supports Australia’s efforts to prevent and contain AMR in human health, and implementation of Australia’s National Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy - 2020 and Beyond. The AURA Surveillance System is coordinated by the Department of Health and Aged Care.
