New NSQHS Standards Assessor Orientation course

A newly updated and streamlined National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards Assessor Orientation course is now available. The revised program is shorter, more focused and designed to better support new assessors as they begin their accreditation journey.

Course structure

The course consists of three modules:

Module 1 The Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation (AHSSQA) Scheme
Module 2 The NSQHS Standards
Module 3 Clinical Governance

Each module takes approximately 60 minutes to complete and is supported by a comprehensive training compendium, including links to key resources and reference materials.

What the course covers

The course outlines the assessment process and provides practical examples to demonstrate how assessments are conducted using the Assessment Framework.

The Commission's training modules are foundational and aim to ensure new assessors have the skills and knowledge to:

  • work effectively within the requirements of the AHSSQA Scheme
  • apply structured assessment frameworks in a practical and consistent way
  • access resources to support assessment and implementation of NSQHS Standards.
