National Medicines Symposium
The National Medicines Symposium (NMS) is an annual, cross-disciplinary event bringing together leading organisations, experts, clinicians, consumers and policymakers to discuss and debate key issues around quality use of medicines.
NMS 2025
Hosted by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care on 22 October 2025. NMS25 brought together leading clinicians, policymakers, researchers and individuals with lived experience for a timely discussion on emerging issues and current challenges surrounding medicines safety in people with diabetes. The event highlighted practical considerations and approaches that could be incorporated to improve the safe and appropriate use of medicines in people living with diabetes.
NMS 2024
Held by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care on 19 November 2024. NMS24 brought together leading experts, clinicians, consumers and policymakers for a timely discussion on emerging and key issues surrounding medicine safety in an ageing population. The event had a strong focus on highlighting tools and approaches that could be incorporated to improve the safe and quality use of medicines.
NMS 2023
Hosted for the first time by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care on 8 November 2023. NMS23 brought together leading organisations, experts, clinicians, consumers, and policymakers for a timely discussion on emerging and key issues around sustainability and the quality use of medicines.
