The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights is for everyone. We are endeavouring to provide translations of the Charter in many community languages. Currently the Charter is available in 19 languages in a printable A4 poster format.
The Charter has been adapted to suit specific audiences and purposes. Use the resources on this page to support implementation of the Charter or to help people understand and use the Charter.
Where appropriate, glossary definitions from external sources have been adapted to fit the context of the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards.
Partnering with patients underpins the delivery of care. Patients are partners in their own health care to the extent that they choose.
Healthcare services develop, implement and maintain systems to partner with consumers in their own health care.
The Safety and Quality Advice Centre (the Advice Centre) provides support to health service organisations, assessors and accrediting agencies on the implementation of Safety and Quality Standards and accreditation assessment requirements under the Australian Health Service Safety and Quality (AHSSQA) Scheme.
