Standards and accreditation updates

The intent of this advisory is to ensure that assessors using the National Safety and Quality Standards and specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander actions, receive face-to-face cultural safety training.

Today the Commission releases six new action guides to help service providers understand and implement the Digital Mental Health Standards.

The Commission is pleased to announce three organisations have been approved to conduct accreditation assessments to the National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health (NSQDMH) Standards.

To clarify the requirements for conducting comparisons of radiation dose levels and administered activity for imaging procedures against the Australian national diagnostic reference levels (DRLs).

To clarify not applicable actions for BreastScreen Australia (BSA) Services implementing the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

To provide health service organisations and accrediting agencies with information on the scope and assessment of workforce training requirements related to infection prevention and control and hand hygiene.

The Commission has released the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards User Guide for Acute and Community Mental Health Services (the user guide). 

The release of the National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health (NSQDMH) Standards in November 2020 was a significant step in providing safety and quality assurance for digital mental health service users, and best practice guidance for service providers.

The National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (Governance Framework) was launched by Dr Brendan Murphy, Secretary of the Australian Government Department of Health, on 24 May 2022 at the annual ARCS conference.
