NSQMHCMO Accredited Services
Organisations that are accredited to the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations (NSQMHCMO Standards) have been independently assessed to ensure they have systems in place to meet the necessary safety and quality requirements.
Health service organisations and/or providers can only be assessed to the NSQMHCMO Standards by accrediting agencies that have been granted approval by the Commission.
Register of accredited services
The Commission's register of NSQMHCMO Standards accredited services lists organisations that currently hold accreditation.
The register is updated monthly. Organisations that have completed an assessment in the last month will be uploaded onto the register – for example, a service that is awarded accreditation on 10 June will appear on the register from mid-July.

What does accreditation mean
Community managed mental health service providers seeking accreditation to the NSQMHCMO Standards must go through a rigorous assessment process. They are required to demonstrate evidence to an independent accrediting agency they meet all of the relevant actions in the standards.
Accreditation to the NSQMHCMO Standards means that a community managed mental health service has addressed:
- Practice Governance Standard, which describes the governance, safety and quality systems required to maintain and improve the reliability, safety and quality of mental health care, and improve outcomes for consumers.
- Partnering with Consumers, Families and Carers Standard, which describes the systems and strategies to create a person-centred mental health system in which consumers and, where relevant, their families and carers are:
- Supported in their decision-making
- Partners in their own care
- Involved in the development and co-design of quality mental health care.
- Model of Care Standard, which describes the processes for delivering mental health services, recognising and responding to deterioration and minimising harm, preventing and controlling infection, managing medication use and communicating for safety.
