National Clinical Trials Governance Framework
The National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF) provides a set of safety and quality standards to embed clinical trials into routine health service provision and strengthen the clinical and corporate governance arrangements for health service organisations (HSOs) that deliver a clinical trial service.
Key messages
- Assessments to the NCTGF commenced in May 2023 in alignment with assessment of HSOs to the NSQHS Standards under a maturity scale approach.
- The Commission is committed to supporting HSOs and accrediting agencies in the implementation of the NCTGF through continuous consultation and ongoing development of resources.

To support the delivery of high-quality clinical trial services the Commission has developed the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework on behalf of all jurisdictions in collaboration with the Australian Government Department of Health.
