Partnering with consumers in the NSQHS Standards
Partnering with Consumers was introduced in the first edition of the NSQHS Standards and has been expanded in the second edition.
Partnering with Consumers was a foundational in the first edition of the NSQHS Standards. Both the Partnering with Consumers and Governance Standards were overarching, and used to inform implementation of the remaining eight NSQHS Standards.
In the first edition of the NSQHS Standards, Partnering with Consumers focused on engaging with consumers in the organisational and strategic processes that guide the planning, design and evaluation of health services.
The second edition has built on this and now includes a greater focus on engaging consumers as partners in their own care, as well as in organisational and strategic processes.
