Webinars for health professionals - Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard
The Commission conducted a number of webinars for nurses, colonoscopists, GPs and quality managers from August to October 2020. The purpose of the webinars was to promote the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard and the implementation resources developed by the Commission.
Webinars
For gastroenterological nurses
The Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) hosted the first in a series of webinar sessions about the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard. This session tailored for nurses working in endoscopy units was presented by Ms Catherine Conway from GENCA.
For general practitioners
Dr Oliver Frank, General Practitioner and member of the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard Topic Working Group for the Commission presented a session for general practitioners.
For colonoscopists
Mr Iain Skinner, member of the Surgical Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Committee, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE), and Co-Chair of the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard Topic Working Group, presented a session for colonoscopists.
For quality managers
Ms Amanda Ginger, Quality Manager Network Australasia presented a session for quality managers on the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard and the implementation resources available.

Background information
The Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standard was developed by the Commission following consultation and development of a national safety and quality model for colonoscopy (the safety and quality model). The development of a clinical care standard was an integral component of the safety and quality model.
