ISO 80369-6:2016 neural connector devices to reduce misconnection errors - Guidelines for implementation in Australia

The Commission’s guideline ISO 80369-6:2016 neural connector devices to reduce misconnection errors - Guidelines for implementation in Australia provides Australian health services with information, including a safety checklist, to facilitate the safe introduction of neural devices with connectors that comply with ISO 80369-6:2016. Since publication in 2019, the international standard has been updated to ISO 80369-6:2025 Small bore connectors for liquids and gases in healthcare applications - Part 6: Connectors for neural applications. The underlying principles within the guidelines remain unchanged and continue to be applicable. However, readers should be aware the guidance has not been verified against ISO 80369-6:2025.
