Approved accrediting agencies
The Commission manages several Australian health service accreditation schemes. These are the details of accrediting agencies for each of those schemes.
Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme
The Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme (the AHSSQA Scheme) sets out the responsibilities of accrediting agencies in relation to implementation of the following safety and quality standards:
- National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS Standards) including the Integrated Health and Aged Care Services (IHACS) Module and the National Clinical Trials (NCT) Governance Framework
- National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare (NSQPCH) Standards
- National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health (NSQDMH) Standards
- National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations (NSQMHCMO)
- National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery (NSQCS) Standard.
Under the AHSSQA Scheme, it is the Commission’s responsibility to approve accrediting agencies seeking to assess health service organisations against the abovementioned standards.

National General Practice Accreditation Scheme
The National General Practice Accreditation (NGPA) Scheme sets out the responsibilities of accrediting agencies in relation to implementation of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner's (RACGP):
- Standards for general practices
- Standards for point-of-care testing

Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme
The Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS) sets out the responsibilities of accrediting agencies in relation to implementation of the DIAS Standards.
