The webinar will explore how partnering with patients, carers and communities can improve equity by ensuring that surgical services are designed around the needs, preferences and experiences of people who may face barriers to accessing and participating in health care.

Hear about Ready Set Surgery, a Western Sydney Local Health District initiative developed in response to needs identified through consumer engagement. The initiative brings together consumer perspectives and clinical expertise to help patients prepare for surgery through accessible, health-literate information and personalised support.

Presenters will share how Ready Set Surgery was co-designed and implemented, providing a practical example of Foundation Two ‘Partnering with patients, carers and communities’ in the Commission’s new National Model for Clinical Governance.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a live Q&A session with the presenters.
