Emergency Laparotomy CCS Campaign

-

This communications kit supports the new Emergency Laparotomy Clinical Care Standard, released on 1 May 2026.

We welcome your support for our Standard by downloading and sharing the content on your website, social networks or within your health service.

You are encouraged to use these resources to raise awareness about the new Standard and best practice care for emergency laparotomy.

Our efforts aim to improve care for all Australians having emergency surgery for time-critical abdominal conditions, like a bowel obstruction, perforation or serious internal bleeding.

The Standard was developed by the Commission, in partnership with health service organisations, clinicians and consumers and endorsed by 20 professional organisations.
