We are seeking feedback on the draft Point of Care Testing Guide for Health and Aged Care Services (the Guide).
The Commission developed the Guide to support health and aged care services undertaking point of care testing (PoCT) when pathologist oversight is not possible.
The Guide aims to support the safe, effective and consistent implementation and use of PoCT, including health service actions, reflective questions, suggested strategies, resources and case studies.
Your feedback will help ensure the Guide is practical, relevant and applicable across a range of health and aged care settings.

Written submissions
Individuals and organisations may provide feedback through a written submission sent to pathology@safetyandquality.gov.au.
The submission can address all or any of the consultation questions outlined in the written submission questions document.
Next steps
Following the consultation, we will:
- review and analyse the feedback
- update the draft Guide with input from the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) and the Point of Care Testing Working Group
- finalise the Point of Care Testing Guide for Health and Aged Care Services for release in 2027.
