The new resources include:
- a fact sheet for consumers
- posters for display in practices
- a webpage for consumers.
The new fact sheet and posters explain accreditation in a clear and accessible way. They include information on how accreditation supports quality care and what patients can expect from an accredited general practice.
A poster has also been developed for services that provide primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Commission has launched a new consumer webpage with information on general practice accreditation and why it is important. The webpage includes a national register of accredited general practices and Aboriginal Medical Services, helping consumers find accredited services across Australia.
The Commission encourages general practices and Aboriginal Medical Services to download and print the resources from the consumer webpage for display in waiting areas, and to share with their patients to build understanding of accreditation.
