The revised Framework supports all healthcare professionals in Australia to communicate openly with patients when things go wrong in health care.
Originally released in 2014, the updated Framework reflects contemporary clinical practice and strengthens its focus on person-centred care.
The Framework sets out a nationally consistent approach to open disclosure, supporting clear, timely and compassionate communication with patients when things do not go to plan.
