This Advisory provides guidance on the implementation and assessment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander actions in the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
Key changes
- Updated guidance to align with Advisory AS18/01 on not applicable actions.
- Clarified eligibility for not applicable status for Actions 1.2, 1.4, 1.33 and 2.13.
- Strengthened guidance on undertaking a comprehensive risk analysis when seeking not applicable status.
- Reinforced that Actions 1.21 and 5.8 must be implemented by all health service organisations.
You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with this Advisory. Accrediting agencies are required to implement it, and health services are expected to comply with its requirements.
