Requirements for medical testing of microbial nucleic acids (Second Edition 2013)
This document was published by the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) whilst under the governance of the Department of Health and Aged Care. From 1 July 2021, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) assumed responsibility for coordinating the National Pathology Accreditation (NPA) Scheme and supporting the development of the Pathology Standards.
Requirements for medical testing of microbial nucleic acids (Second Edition 2013) is currently in use.
This Standard sets out the requirements intended to apply to tests used for the detection, characterisation and qualification of nucleic acids (deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA and ribonucleic acid or RNA) in medical pathology laboratories testing for microorganisms that can or may cause disease in humans.
