Strategic Plan

The Commission’s Strategic Plan 2025–30 sets a refreshed direction for leading safety and quality improvement across Australia’s healthcare system.

The Commission’s purpose is to lead improvements in the safety and quality of health care so all Australians receive better care, everywhere.

Alongside the release of the Strategic Plan 2025–30, the Commission unveiled a new brand that reflects our focus on safe, high-quality care, and collaboration across the health sector.

Priority areas

The Commission’s Strategic Plan 2025–30 has four priority areas:

  1. High-quality care in an evolving environment
    Focus: High-quality health care is delivered consistently, reliably and equitably for all Australians.
  2. Strong outcome-focused clinical governance
    Focus: Clinical governance, integrated standards and accreditation drive better patient outcomes.
  3. Empowered patients, carers and communities
    Focus: Health care is designed and delivered with patients and communities.
  4. An improvement-driven workforce culture
    Focus: Better health care is everyone’s responsibility, every day.
